There has been a lot of construction traffic this week and next week it will increase. The USACE awarded a contract to fix the sheet pile at the end of Charles Point. The Michigan contractor (Great Lakes Docks & Materials) began mobilization this week and the first of more than 25 tractor trailer loads of equipment are now in or on their way to the county park. The contractor hopes to begin work next week. Once work begins, Smith Gravel will be bringing the granite rock from the rail yards to the beach. This work will continue until the ice forms or they are completed.
On Monday Tarracon Consultants from Rochester will be in the village drilling 3 additional test borings for the storm water project. This information will be shared with the bidders on Tuesday. The bids are due next Friday the 16th at 3pm.
We also expect construction of the dune project will begin on Monday. The pre-construction walk through was done on Tuesday and the site walk through on Wednesday. The contractor, Martin’s Tidesides is working with the sand supplier now on the rate and method of sand delivery.
RG&E’s contractor indicated they were going to start late this week or early next week. They will start at the corner of Wickham Blvd and Bay Street Extension and work toward and then down Greig Street from there.
We also have received DEC comments on the White Birch 60% Design Report. The engineer will work to respond to those in the next few weeks. They have also begun the easement definitions for both White Birch and Lakestones projects. Executed easements are required for obtaining a grant disbursement agreement for those projects.
Brush collection will take place on Tuesday next week.
The October Village Board meeting is being moved 1 week and will now be held on Thursday, October 22nd at 6:30PM.
