Today’s water level is 247.45, nearly 6 inches higher than last year at this time. The sandbag operation at the village highway barn is running very well. This combined with the work being done at the Sodus Department of Transportation (DOT) yard will supply us with enough sandbags to begin placing next Monday. We have confirmation for 2 crews beginning on Monday. Sandbagging will occur generally from lowest elevation to highest. Once that is completed, sandbags will be made available to the residents for any additional sandbagging they want to get done.
Yesterday, the storm drains were plugged and the pumps moved into place. They are ready to start when needed and have all been serviced by Wayne County Highway Department.
The wastewater department is paying close attention to both the overall volume and the flows into specific lift stations. At the current lake level in 2017 we were seeing 100,000 more gallons per day in volume. We did have a section re-televised and found some more leaks that will be repaired next week.
We will have a public information meeting on Saturday, May 4th at 10 a.m. in the fire hall. I don’t expect to have much additional information to share but am very willing to answer questions.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
