There will be a great deal of activity over the next few weeks as we work to finish up the storm water project. Today a 50’ section of curb and sidewalk will be removed on Wickham Blvd so that it can be brought to the correct grade. The curb will be reset on Thursday and the sidewalk will be poured on Monday. There are several other minor repairs/changes that are underway and will continue until they are completed.
Expect significant traffic interruptions for the next 2 weeks.
The pavement schedule for next week is:
Monday, August 2 – Begin milling Greig Street to the business district (east to west)
Tuesday, August 3 – Finish milling Greig St to the business district, mill Wickham Blvd & Bay St Ext
Wednesday, August 4 – Mill the business district first thing
Thursday, August 5 – Identify any box out areas – areas with insufficient base after milling
Friday, August 6 – Complete the box out areas identified.
Paving will continue the following week.
The interpretive signs for the beach project are now in place. One is at the beach end of First street and the other is in the lighthouse grounds. They are different and each tells a unique story.
The village along with the Village of Sodus, Town of Sodus, Sodus Rotary, Sodus Lions and Reliant Credit Union are sponsoring an E-Waste drive on Saturday August 21st from 9 – 12 at the Village of Sodus Highway Barn.
The Fire Department Open House is Saturday, August 7th at noon.
The vendor for the kayak launch is working with their installation team to be here either later this week or next to finally get the launch in service. We are all anxious to have this important service in place.
Water & sewer bills are due on July 31st. You can pay online (https://soduspoint.info/), via the drop box or by stopping in the office.
