Residents of Sodus Point, My name is Pat Nolan, and I am honored and humbled to serve as your Mayor. Your support, confidence, and belief in me means more than words can express. Our Village is special — not just because of its location on the shores of Great Sodus Bay, but because of the people who call it home.
Thank you for entrusting me with this opportunity. I am committed to working every day to uphold the values, charm, and community spirit that make Sodus Point such an extraordinary place to live. Together, we will continue to strengthen our village, celebrate our heritage, and plan for a bright and sustainable future.
Sodus Point: A Great Place to Live
The Village of Sodus Point is a small, quaint, and welcoming community at lands’ end with all the charm of a classic cottage village. Surrounded on three sides by the waters of Great Sodus Bay, the largest bay on the south shore of Lake Ontario, our Village offers natural beauty at every turn.
Our businesses, residents, and community groups work hand-in-hand on local projects, events, and improvements. This shared commitment is what truly makes Sodus Point one of the best places to live year-round. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or a seasonal visitor who has fallen in love with our shoreline, you’ll find that Sodus Point is more than a location — it’s a community.
To Visit
Historic Sodus Point is rich with stories dating back to the War of 1812 and even earlier. Visitors can experience this history firsthand through murals on both the west and east sides of the fire hall, each depicting iconic moments from our past.
The Sodus Bay Historical Society maintains the beloved Old Lighthouse Museum, a must-see destination. Beyond its fascinating exhibits, the lighthouse offers breathtaking views of Lake Ontario and the surrounding shoreline. The Historical Society also hosts free Sunday afternoon summer concerts.
From local eateries to cozy lodges and charming bed-and-breakfasts, Sodus Point offers an unforgettable experience for anyone looking to stay awhile.
To Play
Whether you’re seeking outdoor adventure or peaceful recreation, Sodus Point has something for everyone.
Fishing enthusiasts will find world-class perch, bass, lake trout, and king salmon — whether casting from their own boat or heading out with a licensed charter captain. In the winter months, the bravest among us enjoy ice fishing and even ice boating as a refreshing escape from the cabin blues.
Our village features swimming beaches on both the lake and bay sides where you can explore, swim, play in the surf, or enjoy a quiet walk along the shoreline.
Golfers will appreciate the beautiful course overlooking the bay, where the stunning view may matter just a little more than your score.
As you explore the website, you’ll discover links to local events, activities, points of interest, schedules, and resources that will make you want to visit — or even settle in — historic Sodus Point.
As those that have laid the foundation before me have said,
Get to the Point!
On behalf of our entire team welcome to Sodus Point.
Explore, Enjoy, And join us in celebrating the village we’re proud to call home.
Sincerely,
Mayor Pat Nolan
