Brush Schedule and Guidelines

Monday, November 15th-19th (Leaf Week)Brush and leaf Collection may be required past the final scheduled date as determined by department head, however all collection ends on Friday, November 26th. Christmas tree collection upon request.

- BR-2 Leaves and Brush must be separated. No garbage, trash, or building materials will be accepted. Plastic bagged material will not be accepted. All leaves and brush must be un-bagged to be collected. Landscape contractors and tree surgeons are responsible for removal of their own debris.
- BR-3 Brush must be placed at curbside no more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled collection date. Brush must be made accessible via the village machinery. Brush will not be picked up if placed to close to trees, mailboxes, telephone poles, fences and or other obstructions that may be damaged or cause damage to a village machine.
- BR-4 It should be noted that any attempt to import brush or any other debris from outside the Village of Sodus Point for purposes of collection by village personnel will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
- BR-5 The Village maintains a brush drop-off site behind the old water plant on Featherly Drive for those residents who cannot adhere to the 48 hour prior to pick-up window for curbside collection. It is the responsibility of the homeowner or occupant to transport brush to this site. This is not a commercial dumping site, commercial persons caught doing so will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This is also not a site for building materials or trash these types of materials cost the village money as they must be removed prior to chipping of the brush pile. Any part found discarding said materials at this location will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Any residential person found guilty of any article of this rule sheet shall be subject to a fine of not less than $50.00 per offence and the right to refuse services. Further prosecution depending on severity and regularity may be exercised when deemed necessary. Any commercial entity or person found guilty of any article of this rule sheet shall be subject to a fine of not less than $100.00 per offence. Further prosecution may be exercised to ensure repeated offences do not occur.
