Do I need a permit for a shed or out building?

Sheds or other outdoors structures require a permit and may require Planning and Zoning Board approval.

Yes. Fences require a permit and planning board approval, this includes a hedgerow (living fence).

What is the Zoning Board of Appeals?

The Zoning Board of Appeals is a quasi-judicial board, responsible for hearing appeals from persons previously denied building permits.  The standards for review of such matters depend upon the type of variance an applicant may be seeking.  The ZBA has the authority to issue variances to relieve certain zoning restrictions.  The Zoning Board of Appeals guides the future growth of the Village in accordance with a general plan which is developed to ensure the most beneficial and coherent relationships among residential, nonresidential and public areas.Zoning regulations are set in place to guide the character, social, and economic stability of the Village.

The board of appeals has jurisdiction to hear and decide the following:
1. Appeals: Applications brought by aggrieved persons from interpretations of the village code made by the building inspector or from other determinations made by him.
2. Interpretations: Applications brought directly to the board of appeals by any local agency for interpretations of provisions of the village code.
3. Variances: Applications brought by persons for variances from the strict application of provisions of the village code.
4. Special permits: Applications brought by persons for special permits.
Members are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Village Board to five years terms.
The ZBA schedules meetings by request of  the Code Enforcement Officer and are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.

When are the fireworks?

The 2023 Independence Day fireworks display is on July 3rd at 10PM.

When are water bill payments due?

Water and sewer bills are invoiced quarterly and due at the end of the month. A late payment charge of 10% will be assessed on any unpaid balance of your water and sewer charges after due date.
