Regarding the program for homeowners, we have been told that the application will be available on the HCR web site (https://hcr.ny.gov/) by October 1 st . Bishop Sheen will be administering the program in our area. As we learn more, we will share the information. In the meantime, work to get estimates for what you need to get done on your property.
Today our water level is at 247.75 and all the pumps are currently shut off. We will work with the sheriff divers next week to remove the plugs in the outfalls. NYS Homeland Security will be in the village after Labor Day to remove the pumps and the aqua dams.
If you want compost material to place around your sandbags or elsewhere in your yards, please call the village office. As long as we are under a state of emergency, we will bring it to your driveway. We are encouraging everyone to leave the sandbags in place as every indication points to high water in 2020.
IMPORTANT! We would really like more participation in the Active Transportation Program survey. The results of this program will determine what projects will be constructed and provide information needed to secure funding to complete the projects. This program focuses on sidewalks, bike trails and moving people around the village in non-motorized forms. The survey will be open until August 31st st . It is available (here) and on the village web site. Hard copies are in the village hall.
As a reminder, the LOSLRA Flood Rally is Saturday, August 24th from 9:30 to 11:30 at Katlynn Marine.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
