The Central Avenue drainage has been stopped. Feedback from neighbors over the previously approved design has not been positive. The engineer will be back on site this week to review the project and see what alternatives, if any exist. Once we have additional information we can determine the next steps.
The rain last week impacted our paving that was scheduled for this week on Margaretta Road and Wickham Blvd. At this point, we expect the milling for those projects to begin this week and the paving to happen next week.
On Monday, October 4th the Water Department will be flushing hydrants around the village. If you have brown water please run the water until it becomes clear. Should the problem persist, please call the Clerk’s office (315-483-9881) or the Water Department (315-483-6008).
The paving sub-contractor for the Storm Water project still needs to come back to finish their work which also includes a few corrections and some clean up. The pump for the Wickham Blvd pump station is ready to be re-installed. Both of these should happen over the next 2 weeks. Once the contractor indicates they are complete, a final walk through and punch list will be created and addressed.
The Town of Sodus is holding a clean-up on October 2nd from 8:30 to 3:30 at the town barn on Rotterdam Road. They are also holding a shredding event on the same day from 9-12 in the Municipal Parking lot in the Village of Sodus.
At this point, it appears the water levels will end the month of September approximately an inch above the long term average. Based on the latest forecast from the IJC levels are expected to be near normal through February. Updated forecasts for both the long term weather and long term lake levels will come out in October. Both of these will look forward 6-12 months.
Feel free to call or email with any questions or concerns.
