The kayak launch is finally in and operational. It will now work in both high and low water.
Next week will be another frustrating week to drive around the eastern part of the village. On Monday they will be leveling the milled road in several places to insure a smooth top coat. They will also be fixing some trouble areas that have been identified. Paving will start on Tuesday and follow this sequence:
· Greig Street – from the loop to Clover Street
· Wickham Blvd
· Bay Street
· Greig Street – Clover to Willow Park
In addition, Clover Street, several driveways and side street aprons all will be paved.
The fire department open house is this Saturday, August 7th at noon. This is a great time to see some of the equipment available to be used and talk to our volunteers who work hard to keep us safe.
Brush pick up is next Monday. Please keep your piles away from fixed objects.
On Tuesday, August 31st there will be a Public Information Session regarding the proposed Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary off of our shorelines. Two members of the Advisory Council will be at the Fire Hall at 7pm for a brief presentation followed by a question and answer session. This is a great opportunity to earn more about what is proposed and the timeline to move this forward. This could be a good economic driver for our village. You can find more information at https://sanctuaries.noaa.gov/lake-ontario/
On Sunday, August 15th from noon until 2, the Wayne County Youth Fishing Derby Awards ceremony will take place at the Fire Hall. Everyone is invited to this exciting ceremony.
The Sunshine Auto Parade will be held on Saturday, September 4th at 6pm. Get your cars cleaned up for the smooth roads. Fireworks will follow at 9pm.
Feel free to call or email with any questions or concerns.
